    • Hello, you are bidding on 1 rare Civil War Canister Shot from an exploded Artillery Canister.  These have a diameter of about 1″.  Canister shot was placed in a canister and packed in using pitch and sulphur…  In the middle of the canister stand would be the black powder bursting charge that would explode sending the canister shot flying in all directions.
    Please see reconstructed canister to see how these were utilized (of course this is for representation only).
    These were all dug just North of Atlanta in the Kennesaw Mountain area out of Union Positions.  I have included photos of the Historical Marker so you could see the general area that we dug these.  I don’t have many left.  It takes 10 to make a stack.  Please see my other auctions for more great authentic Civil War Relics.
