Purple amethyst is more highly prized and will cost more for a smaller lesser quality crystal.  Lavender is the most common color and where you will find the best quality/value for price

Many of the crystals have special color properties: Many have phantoms, not just the ones we’ve indicated.  Some have “floating” purple tips.  The placement of darker purple against purple or white crystals appears to change as the crystal is turned.  Many are a mixture of citrine and amethyst. The ones called “Golden Healers” or “Sunshine” have a rainbow effect on crystal faces.
